Khwai Tented Camp

Khwai Tented Camp is situated within a community-run concession on the eastern border of the Moremi Game Reserve. Camp lies on the banks of a lagoon flowing into the Khwai River, which serves as a boundary between the reserve and the community area. This offers visitors a unique opportunity of combining the day time drives in Moremi Game Reserve with sundowner night drives and guided walking safaris within the concession.
While walking is not usually permitted in the national parks or game reserve, but is allowed in this boundary that still allows for access to the world-famous game viewing within Moremi that feature Africa’s big attractions – lion, cheetah, leopard, wild dog, elephant, buffalo, hippo, and giraffe.
Description
The camp preserves the romance of bygone era where life harmonizes with nature. There are no permanent structures; everything can be removed to leave the wilderness exactly as it was found. Guests enjoy spacious and comfortable tented accommodation, beds, and private en-suite bathrooms with flush toilets and bucket showers under the stars.
As the Khwai is a community-run concession, all proceeds from tourism go directly to help local people and local projects through the Khwai Community Trust.
