Nxamaseri Island Lodge
Enjoy a unique island experience in the permanent waters of the Okavango Delta where the rivers meet the desert hills. This area is well known for its large volume of Tigerfish, one of the world’s most dramatic freshwater game fish.
This is one of the oldest lodges in the delta. With seven double en-suite chalets you will be secluded in indigenous forest where you can enjoy views of the waterways from your private deck. The lodge is designed to show off the areas breathtaking scenery with décor hand-crafted by local artisans and original Botswana artwork. This owner-run camp offers excellent personalized attention for an intimate and peaceful experience in nature.
Activities include tiger fish fisihg, birding, mokoro (dugout canoe) trips, and day trips to the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Tsodilo Hills, for an unforgettable immersion into the world’s most comprehensive archive of San Bushmen rock art.
Fly fishing and lure fishing are both available for Tigerfish, Bream (Tilapia), and Barbel. In September, you can experience the thrilling world-renowned event of the Barbel runs. Bream fishing is typically best during the winter months from April through August. Tigerfish differs from year to year but generally lasts from late August to the beginning of November. A number of specialist fly-fishing guides and fully equipped boats are available.
